Our Company
Founded in 2006, Intrahost was created as a part of the Intragroup family, a group already renowned for its specialised approach to IT solutions and trading ever since its formation in 2000.
Intrahost’s founding purpose was to offer specialised co-location hosting services for UK based organisations.
However, Intrahost’s first 12 months saw not only rapid growth, but also expansion into many new areas of hosting, such as application hosting, dedicated server hosting and virtual server hosting. Eventually, therefore, in late 2007, two new brands, Virtual Server Warehouse and Dedicated Server Warehouse were launched so as to maintain Intrahost’s, now recognised, specialised approach.
The two Server Warehouse brands were created to allow a stepping stone approach to the usage of the services offered by Intrahost. Whether our clients use dedicated servers or virtual dedicated servers we allow their usage grow in line with their requirements and the brands ensure we are with them every step of the way.
With Intrahost’s original, specialist co-location business and subsequent new hosting ventures being followed by an expansion into the hosted, disaster recovery solutions, market, it was not surprising that 2007 saw our number of data centres quadruple. Data centres in Manchester, Sheffield and Leeds were added to the original Hull data centre. In 2009, Intrahost opened the South Yorkshire Data Centre in Barnsley and plans are in place for a sixth data centre to be added for server co-location.
Back in 2007, we launched our “Go Green” initiative, which extended Intrahost’s environmentally-friendly work by introducing a number of green products and incentives, we also actively reduced our carbon footprint and increased our participation in schemes to replace the Earth’s resources which we consume in providing our services.
Our Brands
Virtual Server Warehouse was set up in November 2007 to enable a more focused approach to virtual hosting by taking on board both shared hosting and virtual private servers. By offering this comprehensive range of pre-set and customisable virtual servers, Virtual Server Warehouse provides a stepping stone approach to clients needing hosting services, ensuring that there will be a suitable service available regardless of the size of their businesses.
Dedicated Server Warehouse was created in December 2007, to expand the availability, to Intrahost clients, of the stepping stone approach already begun by the Virtual Server Warehouse brand. The Dedicated Server Warehouse specialist brand offers clients a range of customisable, scalable, hosted solutions, this time, based on the use of dedicated servers.
