Is the hosting contract long-term?

There is no compulsory long-term contract with either our standard shared web hosting or virtual dedicated server hosting services.

Both accounts can be operated on a month-by-month basis and come with a 30 day money-back guarantee.

You can sign up for longer periods if you wish and there are often incentives for you to do so. This link will show you Intrahost’s current offers on VDS (VPS) or web hosting.

Our dedicated servers and UK colocation services do have a minimum 12 months term as standard.

What happens if I reach my disk limit?

In short, you wont be able to add any additional files, and log file creation will be hindered potentially affecting the performance of any websites hosted within your package.

Before this limit is reached a warning email will be sent to you to notify you of the even. Keeping track of log files and any ftp folders you use should prevent this from being too much of an issue. If it does become an issue review our knowledge base, or contact our support teams to discuss your options.

Of course, you can upgrade your account to one that provides more disk space - our upper limit on UK web host accounts is 20Gb (20,000Mb).

Do I have to transfer my domains to use your hosting service?

No.

If you want to take out a web hosting account with Intrahost to host existing domain names it is NOT necessary to transfer the domains and use Intrahost as their registrar.

Once you have a web host account with Intrahost you can simply go back to the domain registrar’s website, log into your domain name control panel and change the DNS records to point to the IP address of your Intrahost account.

Is there a limit to how many domains I can host on one account?

NO, there is NO LIMIT on the number of domains you can host on your Intrahost web host account.

In practice, there is a limit to the disk space provided with each account and as each web site would take up more space eventually you would run out of space.

However, you can simply upgrade to a web hosting package offering more disk space when you need it.

But please note that, for example, even our ”value” Linux cPanel account comes with a generous allowance of 1.5Gb (1500Mb) of hard disk space.

Can I change my control panel from Plesk to cPanel or vice versa?

Not exactly, however you can choose to swith to an alternative package should you wish to use a different control panel. Both cPanel and Plesk come with an import tool that will import your domains and their settings.

What are the charges for traffic over usage?

Our web hosting packages have set traffic limits, which do not allow over usage. However you can add additional traffic to your allowance by upgrading your package within your client area.

Additional traffic is charged at 25p per 1GB.

What happens if I reach my traffic limit?

Traffic limits assigned to our web hosting packages are hard limits, in that there is no over-usage. Once a traffic limit has been reached no additional data shall be transmitted from any websites hosted upon it.

Our system does however automatically send a warning when you are reaching your limit, and if required you can purchase additional traffic to compensate.

Is there a long term contract?

No. We do not have any minimum contract period with our web hosting packages, they simply run from month to month, based upon your initial order date.
