FAQs
Can I use my own firewall?
Yes. You can co-locate your servers behind your own firewall, have a dedicated firewall or use one of our shared firewalls. All Intrahost firewalls are Cisco ASA 5500 series top grade appliances.
What sizes of rackspace are available?
All our full cabinets are a minimum of 42U in size. We can provide space in these formats:
- A single ‘U’ (1U is 1.75 inches)
- Multiple ‘U’s
- Quarter cabinet
- Full cabinet
Can I install my own servers?
Yes. You can install your own equipment, however, Intrahost engineers are always onsite to assist you with any configuration requirements, such as firewall changes.
How much notice do I have to give to install my servers?
We require only 1 day's notice to install new equipment. Typically small numbers of server (e.g. 5 or less) are installed the same day they are delivered.
How do I send the servers to the data centre?
You can send your equipment by courier or deliver in person. Either way, you need to notify us so that we are expecting the delivery. We recommend you insure the equipment for transit.
Do I have to provide my own insurance?
Yes. You are responsible for insuring your own equipment.
Do I need to provide my own rails for co-located servers?
Yes. You must ensure that your servers come supplied with rack rails. For light equipment such as some switches or firewalls, if suitable can be mounted using rack ears.
